PDF Kills Regime Soldiers In Khin-Oo

The Khinoo People’s Defence Force (PDF) in Sagaing Region shot dead two regime soldiers who were patrolling the road between Khinoo and Yayoo in western Khin Oo Township. The Burma army soldiers, who were providing security for Mu Tein Bridge, were targeted at around 1pm on 10 May.

“Our troops seized two assault rifles from them after the clash,” a PDF information officer for the township told KNG.

The armed group fighting to overthrow the military regime captured a MA-1, a AK-47, three magazines with fifteen rounds of ammunition after the fighting, which lasted about three minutes, ended.

Locals informed KNG that junta soldiers control the bridge and have been patrolling the area for over a year, displacing the population.

“There are no houses left in the Khin-Oo area, they have already burnt them down,” said a local on condition of anonymity.

Since the coup, many civilians have been displaced by clashes between the PDF and regime forces. The Burma army have stayed in the abandoned villages where they eventually burned the homes.
