Myitkyina University Students Union Developing Fundraising App

The Myitkyina University Students’ Union is developing a money transfer app to raise funds for internally displaced people (IDP) affected by the war, for government employees who’ve become unemployed after participating in the civil disobedience movement against the military regime, and for disabled people in Kachin State.

The acting president of the students’ union told KNG that an N-wallet application is being developed that will allow people to donate with one click. He said an Android and iPhone application is currently being created and is expected to be ready in July.

“There are many IDPs in Kachin State and we need to support them,” he said. With the app, “people can directly participate in the revolution”.

At least 100,000 people have been displaced by the war in Kachin State.

News about its release will be posted on the Myitkyina University Students Union’s Facebook group.
