Regime Attack Kutkai Bible School

Kachin Theological College

Four students were injured after the Burma Army (BA) shelled a Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC) bible school in Kutkai.

A woman requesting anonymity who lives in the town in northern Shan State said the BA’s artillery battalion indiscriminately shelled in multiple directions at around 8.30pm on 4 November and one of the shells struck the boys’ dormitory.

“Before the artillery attack, we heard the sound of small weapon fire and ran to our bunker in fear.”

At the time of going to press, the KNG was unable to get further details about the attack. The shelling, which was condemned by the Kachin community, took place a couple of days after clashes between the Kachin Independence Army and BA on Kawng Hsert hill near Ho Mung village.
