On Tuesday, a regime jet fighter dropped 10 bombs on and around a village in Homalin township of Sagaing Region where no fighting was happening.
A woman from Nawng Po Aung, which is next to Nawng Hper Mo where the attack happened, said that fortunately, there were no casualties despite several shells landing inside the village area and destroying at least five houses. “Villagers hid in their bunkers,” she said when they heard the jet fighter approaching.
“This is the third air attack in Homalin township. Probably, the military council thinks PDF soldiers are present in Nawng Hper Mo, and that’s why they sent the jet fighter to attack the village.”
Some residents have already fled to Homalin town and other areas after the last airstrikes on Nawng Hper Mo happened on December 24 and 25.
