ABSDF Ambushes Regime In Indaw

The All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) engaged in fierce fighting with 100 soldiers from the regime’s Light Infantry Divisions 88 and 77 travelling from Indaw towards Bamauk Township in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region.

“The ABSDF ambushed the military column near Yadanar Kon village, which is between Maw Take and Nan Tha, between 6am and 7am on 22 May,” a local told KNG on condition of anonymity.

So far, KNG cannot confirm the death toll on either side during the clashes.

The Burma army stayed in Maw Take before moving to Bamauk with the help of ground and air support.

Both Bamauk and Indaw townships border with Kachin State, an area where the regime has been flying multiple airstrikes against the resistance after fighting escalated.

Since March, regime forces have been occupying Nan Tha, Awng Kon and Tong Taw and all of the residents have fled to the jungle.

In late 2022 after the Kachin Independence Army and People’s Defence Force stopped military operations in Indaw, the regime has stepped up patrols in the township.
