Our PSHEA Commitment: Safe Media, Safe Community
At Our Kachin News Group (KNG), ethical journalism is inseparable from safety and respect. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse (PSHEA). Whether you are a member of our staff, an interviewee, or a community stakeholder, we protect your right to a safe professional environment.
Our Resolution Mechanisms
To ensure accountability, we utilize three primary pathways for addressing concerns:
1. Whistleblowing: We encourage a culture of integrity. Staff and external partners are encouraged to speak up about misconduct without fear. We guarantee non-retaliation for any good-faith report regarding breaches of our Code of Conduct or PSHEA standards.
2. Direct Action: We empower individuals to set immediate boundaries. If you experience unwelcome behavior, you have the right to inform the individual that their conduct is unacceptable and must stop. Staff may seek the support of a manager or trusted peer to facilitate this conversation.
3. Responsive Case Management: For unresolved or serious incidents, we move to referral for formal action in the legal system. All reports are handled by our PSHEA Focal Person and case committee through a structured, confidential process. We ensure every case is investigated thoroughly to uphold the dignity of the complainant and the integrity of our organization.
The Kachin News Group (KNG) boldly stands for the truth in our stories and in our conduct. We are committed to a media environment free from harassment for everyone.
