Military Arrests Two People For Filming Explosion in Myitkyina
Burma Army arrested two men after one of them recorded a video of an explosion that wounded a soldier in the capital of Kachin State and published it on his Facebook.
A family member of one of those arrested told KNG the young men rented a room in a building opposite of the Kanbawza Bank in Myitkyina. When the blast happened at 6:30am, May 14, one of them filmed it. The police accuse them of being connected with the explosion. The family member said it is not true and they are just regular guys.
Tun Tun Naing, 26, was arrested in his room a couple of hours after the explosion. Sut Ring Nor Naw was arrested in a noodle shop in Sitapru Ward. Police are not allowing their families to visit them at the station.
The video has been republished by media outlets and on other people’s social media accounts.
Since the coup, explosions have been happening across the country.
