Four Burmese government soldiers were killed on Tuesday, Oct. 11, in fighting with Kachin Independence Army (KIA) troops in Kachin State, witnesses said.
A local witness told the Kachin News Group he found four dead government soldiers and military materials like backpacks and soldiers’ clothing near Ndung Dingsa, east of Manje (Mansi) Township, in Manmaw (Bhamo) District, after fighting with troops from KIA Battalion 27.
The dead soldiers were from a military column which includes troops from Manmaw-based Infantry Battalion No. 47 and Manje-based Light Infantry Battalion No. 601.
The skirmishes occurred in the controlled area of KIA’s Battalion 27, under 3rd Brigade, since early October, Manje residents said.
